Healthy Hemp Homes
While working as a carpenter for two different Denver contractors, he noticed how wasteful the industry is and thought there has to be a better way to build homes that isn't so bad for the environment or for one's health. Enter: hempcrete. He was first introduced to hempcrete by his grandmother who returned from a trip in southeast Asia where they had been building with hempcrete for generations. Taking her advice, he stepped into the space first by attending a workshop in Fort Collins and further educated himself by joining hempcrete builds in Colorado and Idaho. His ambitions of hempcrete now intertwined with his career in construction. In 2023, he started working as a project manager for an electrification company installing heat pumps working to make homes cleaner and more efficient. In this role, he learned the skills needed to manage the construction of a home. Over the years, he kept his hempcrete dreams alive by building a website and marketing his skills until one day, a client was interested in building their dream home in Littleton, CO. Eric connected him with his Dad, a career-long architect, to design the house and two years later, a contract was signed and construction began. Eric is excited to devote the rest of his career to building healthier, stronger, and natural hempcrete homes across the US.
